My version of a classic meatball recipe is rife with flavour, and these beef meatballs have a few simple ingredients you might already have in your cupboard and fridge. Some days call for a warm, hearty meal to satisfy your soul.

As this is a simple meatball recipe, I am using a store-purchased jar of tomato pasta sauce. You could always make your own or use a passata instead. Meatballs are great with pasta, straight in a bowl with some grated cheese or even in a meatball sub.

So let's get on with the beef meatballs recipe:

Use your hands to mix the meatball mixture until combined. (I wear gloves so the mixture doesn't stick to my hands)

Once cooked, let the meatballs rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Enjoy!
✅ Quick Tips: Read the recipe in its entirety before you start cooking. This will help you understand the ingredients, steps, and timing involved, and allow you to prepare any necessary equipment or ingredients beforehand.
A delicious blend of minced beef, mixed herbs, onion, flavour and tomato sauce rolled into balls, then cooked in the oven. Rest for a few minutes, serve how you desire.
Peel and dice 1 medium brown onion
In a large bowl, add: Diced brown onion, beef mince, sausage mince, dried mixed herbs, stock powder, garlic, tomato paste and pepper.
Using your hands, mix to combine.
In a pan or foil tray, add 1 x 500 ml jar of pasta sauce, pour 100 mls of water into the pasta sauce jar and swirl it around to remove leftover sauce, pour into the pan
Preheat the oven to 180°C (360°F)
Roll roughly a level tablespoon of the meatball mixture in a circular motion to form a ball. Place in the tray and repeat this step until all the meatball mixture has been used.
Cover the tray with foil and cook in the oven for 40 minutes.
Once cooked, remove foil and rest for 5 minutes.
Serve as desired. Enjoy!
This recipe works with normal, lean and extra lean minced beef.
If you love garlic, add more.
