Sherbet in Australia is a tongue tingling, sweet and sour confectionery! Growing up in Australia as a kid, you would get excited to go to the shop and buy a packet of Sherbet. I remember a cylinder of sherbet with a licorice strip was a favourite. You could also get sherbet in a bag with a little plastic spoon that looked like a spade.

Sherbet is a fantastic science experiment that kids and adults will love. They can learn what ingredients make the Sherbet fiz, bubble and foam in their mouth.

You can make your own sherbet party favours by getting little glass containers and filling them with different flavoured sherbet—a cheaper way to give a gift.

Sift soft icing sugar, citric acid, tartaric acid and bicarbonate soda into a bowl.

Separate the sifted mixture into 3 bowls.
✅ Quick Tips: Read the recipe in its entirety before you start cooking. This will help you understand the ingredients, steps, and timing involved, and allow you to prepare any necessary equipment or ingredients beforehand.
